AI Filmmaking News - Kling 3.0, Higgsfield Vibe Motion, XAI Million Dollar Competition, and Martini

This week Kling 3.0 was released and it's one of my favorite new tools for AI Filmmaking.  The new "Multi-Cut" workflow allows filmmaker to generate coverage (different shots) of their scene from a single image while maintaing continuity.  Kling 3.0 also introduces a new "Elements" or mini LORA feature that helps keep objects, people, outfits, consistent while the camera moves around them.

Higgsfield "Vibe Motion" was released that usea Claude Code behind the scenes to make motion graphics more acessible to AI filmmakers.  I was part of this launch as CPP and there was some drama around the marketing copy used by Higgsfield.  Many people on X complained about the original marketing text used at launch and Higgsfield eventually deleted the original post and reposted it with more neutral copy.

XAI and Elon Musk announced a 1 Million Dollar film competition to promot the video generation capabilities of Grok.  X also recently had a similar competition to show off the new articles feature which would be great, if they enabled video sharing.  Right now articles are only like 5 images.  The usuals spent the night making some pretty cool ads/films and it's a very engaging space to watch.

A new indie startup backed by YC has appeared called "Martini."  I had a call with the CEO and I'll be testing out the system shortly.  It has been created by a filmmakers for filmmakers and I think it shows a lot of promise.  One of it's main features is a "Jump Into Set" where it will create a "3D" scene from an image allowing you to control a camera and then it will regenerate a high quality image.  This is a half way step between full 3D to AI and regular "guess" prompting for camear angle.

Cheers,

Matt
